Ladies’ Brunch In (2009-2018)

Ladies Brunch In has evolved since starting in 2009. Initially it was organised after the loss of Bev Harrison to celebrate her life and in her memory. It started with humble beginning in the green room with about 30 of us gathering for morning tea and fundraising for the Cancer Council.

Over the following years it has grown and become a much loved event in the community and our congregation. We have evolved into a Pink Ribbon Event raising the awareness of Breast Cancer and Women’s Gynaecological Cancer. This decision was made when a number of our own were affected by this disease. The passion grew to raise awareness and funding for this valuable cause.

The church has taken on working together to prepare a morning of fun and food and raising valuable funds through raffles and sales. We appreciate that many of or men have joined us waiting on tables, preparing and cleaning up. Their contribution is much appreciated.

This event has opened our doors to people who would not necessarily come to church.  Over 100 women now attend the event, the majority are not from our Church community. Many people and stores within the local community contribute to the raffle prizes making this truly a community event. We have raised in excess of $15000 for this wonderful cause.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Dharawal people, and pay repect to elders past, present and emerging
